Infant and Toddler Program

Our infant and toddler programs are where our dedicated teachers lay the ground work for molding your child into a compassionate and bright individual.  While skills such as reading and writing are many years off for these children, the foundation for building a life-long love of learning begins here.  Through the continuous affectionate interactions with their caregivers the children in this program build a trust in teachers that will carry through their entire lives.  This trust helps them feel safe and relaxed at Renaissance and thus opens the door for the multitude of educational experiences they will have in the coming years.

The infant classroom, affectionately named the “Tadpole Room” is a place of indulgence for children where they eat when hungry, sleep when tired, and so on.  Our teachers’ nonstop commitment to providing a warm and loving environment allows your child to develop a permanent sense of trust and confidence in the teachers and caregivers they will encounter in their young lives.  Our infant teachers use their dozens of years of experience to monitor each child’s development and provide a diverse range of activities that expose the children to a variety of sensory experiences.

The one year olds in the “Minnow Room” learn a flexible daily routine that allows for group, art, music, and outdoor activities throughout the day teamed with center provided meal times as well as a mid-day nap.  Through their interactions with the teachers, the children absorb a better knowledge of language and the many ways they can communicate with both adults and children through non-verbal and sometimes verbal means.  The Minnow Room staff brings over 20 years of experience working with toddlers to the classroom.  That experience proves to be invaluable again and again when they confront the normal challenges associated with this age group.  By focusing on specific educational objectives for the Minnows, the teachers ensure that your child becomes well skilled in a variety of developmental areas including not only motor and communication skills but also problem solving and social skills.
